Automotive STCC Code Update

In alignment with changes in the industry, we are asking all customers to update their waybilling patterns to the new STCC codes available to the automotive industry. Please work to have these changes implemented by October 1, 2024.

The updated STCC codes provide accurate identification of the types of automotive vehicles that are being loaded into each railcar. The accurate identification of (1) internal combustion, (2) electric, and (3) hybrid vehicles provides immediate notification to our operations and engineering teams and responders that electric vehicles are in the railcar. Improved accuracy of STCC code identification enhances our ability to consistently meet your transportation service expectations.

See below a current list of STCC codes available for identifying vehicles on rail:

3711215 – ICE trucks
3711120 – ICE
3711121 – EV/Hybrid
3711123 – Mixed with ICE and EV/Hybrid
