Initial Report - Train Derailment near Seneca, NE (Sand Hills Subdivision)

On Friday, March 22nd, 2024 at approximately 09:08 a.m. CDT, we received a preliminary report of a train derailment near Whitman, NE which has affected both main tracks. Seneca, NE is approximately 115 miles east of Alliance, NE. BNSF field personnel are responding to assess the derailment site. The time for opening of the main track one is 10:00 a.m. on March 23rd, 2024. The time for opening main track two has not been determined at this time.
