Intermodal Network Update for Friday, April 26, 2024
OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
BNSF continues to generate solid service performance, despite a large storm system moving across the core of the network last week. Velocity, though down from last week, has slightly improved from March. While currently at an elevated rate, terminal dwell is down more than 2% from the average for last month. Our local service compliance measure remains above 90% and continues to improve month over month.
SERVICE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
An active weather pattern is expected to generate thunderstorms and heavy rainfall periodically across the upper Midwest and the High Plains through Sunday. BNSF teams are closely monitoring conditions in the region, particularly flood-prone areas of the network. As always, we will update customers regarding significant service disruptions.
Much of the network will continue to experience favorable operating conditions to begin the week.
