UPDATE: Hurricane Beryl Recovery Efforts
As storms cleared through the Houston region overnight, operations resumed in the areas of our network affected by Hurricane Beryl.
BNSF facilities in the impacted area have returned to service, including the Pearland Intermodal Facility which is now open for ingates and pickups, and train flows have resumed throughout the Houston Complex. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of BNSF Engineering, Mechanical, Transportation and Signal teams, we were able to safely restore rail operations as quickly as possible. Operational teams are currently executing procedures to work through the backlog caused by the storms.
Customers should expect lingering delays to traffic flow in this region as recovery efforts are ongoing, however, conditions and fluidity will continue to improve throughout the day. Prompt unit pickup is encouraged at Pearland to improve traffic flows, reduce lot congestion and provide space needed to process inbound freight quickly as operations continue to normalize following Hurricane Beryl.
If you have questions regarding a shipment(s), please utilize the Message Us feature on the BNSF Customer Portal (must be registered/logged in to access) or contact BNSF Customer Support at 1-888-428-2673.
BNSF will continue to monitor Beryl, which is now a Tropical Depression, moving north toward the Midwest, with the potential to bring additional flooding and tornadoes along its path. We will keep affected customers informed of any significant service disruptions.
